Second Stage Round 5: Crvena zvezda - Partizan 100-96

There was a change at the ABA League leadership position after last games. The most important game of round 5 was a defeat of league's leader SerbianPartizan (18-2). They were defeated by first ranked Crvena zvezda (15-5) 100-96 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Partizan. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Crvena zvezda shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American-Russian center Joel Bolomboy (205-1994, college: Weber St., agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American-Bulgarian point guard Codi Miller-McIntyre (191-1994, college: Wake Forest) chipped in 13 points and 10 assists. South Sudanese point guard Carlik Jones (185-1997, college: Louisville) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Greek-American point guard Nick Calathes (196-1989, college: Florida) scored 6 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Crvena zvezda and four Partizan players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Crvena zvezda maintains first place with 15-5 record, which they share with Buducnost. Defending Serbian champion Partizan still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Dubai. They were replaced at the leadership position by Igokea.
